Inspired by an award-wining initiative at ICE London, previously known as the Consumer Protection Zone, Sustainable Gambling Zone will be the focal point to collaborate, exchange best practice, learn about the latest research and discover innovations in the area of responsible gambling and sustainability.
Presented as a physical area on the DPS showfloor, it will feature kiosks where organizations committed to responsible gambling and players’ health will exhibit their services, products and tools, turning into a focal point for critical discussions on harm prevention and business sustainability.
As gambling expands to new territories and channels, concerns are being raised about the impacts on vulnerable players. At the same time, new technologies and tools are becoming more available to help operators assess and detect gambling harm risks sooner and prevent them in time to retain players.
While political scrutiny intensifies and the threat of regulatory mandates increases, putting pressure on the industry to act and self-regulate, there is also a business prerogative that makes responsible gambling not just a compliance obligation, but a long-term sustainability proposition that safeguards the lifetime of players, of individual businesses and of the industry as a collective.
Supported by IGT and endorsed by National Council on Problem Gambling and Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health who are amongst the first groups to confirm their presence with a kiosk, Sustainable Gambling Zone at Digital Play Summit invites other organizations that put responsible gambling at the core of their practice to join this initiative, so unique for a North American gaming event.
