Cody Diabo
Ohén:ton I:rate ne Ratitsénhaienhs (Grand Chief) Cody Diabo, a member of the Kanien’keháka of Kahnawà:ke, is committed to advocating for First Nations and Indigenous rights, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. Cody was first elected as a Chief of the MCK in 2019 and became Grand Chief in 2024, focusing on intergovernmental relations at the national and international level, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous Rights and Research.
A strong proponent of sustainability, in his personal time Cody operates a sustainable farming venture promoting food sovereignty. His professional past also includes working in policing, with the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Peacekeepers, as well as experience in the trades as an electrician.
Cody continues to empower the rights of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples by advancing the rights and sovereignty of the community of Kahnawà:ke through advocacy and intergovernmental dialogue.
