With a wealth of experience in Tribal governance, including multiple terms on the Tribal Council, Chairman Mathiesen has been a driving force behind initiatives that empower Native American communities and advance their self-determination. Under his visionary leadership, the Chicken Ranch Rancheria has undergone transformative development. Chairman Mathiesen spearheaded significant infrastructure projects, including comprehensive upgrades to water, sewer, and power systems, ensuring sustainable services for ancestral lands. He also led the construction of a cutting-edge Tribal fire station to address critical safety needs for both the Rancheria and the surrounding community. One of his hallmark achievements is the completion of a state-of-the-art Casino Resort, a project that bolsters the regional economy, generates over 600 jobs, and fosters economic resilience for the Tribe and its neighbors. Chairman Mathiesen has also championed cultural preservation through the expansion of the Chicken Ranch Rancheria Cultural Program and secured additional ancestral lands to safeguard the Tribe’s heritage.
